Wizarding World of Harry Potter! among other things

For those of you who are unaware, in Universal Studios Islands of Adventure in Orlando, FL, they have the wizarding world of Harry Potter.  It feels like you're in the movie!  Like a dream...

Hogwarts Castle...with the coolest ride ever inside

 Some classic scenery
Ollivander chooses a wand for someone special...
They have 2 stores:  Honeydukes and

the joke shop- whatever that is called.

Hagrid's Hut.  You could hear Fang barking

BUTTERBEER!!!  so delish.  It fulfills your wildest dreams

Epcot.  Brynne made us do the 'classic tourest pose'
 I improvised
In Norway, there was a creepy troll ride that was quite strange. But loveable
And here is the beginning of the African Safari ride at the Animal Kingdom

Where a giraffe is kind enough to get that thing in my hair
Elephants so close up.  It really was a cool ride.  We saw a lot of animals that I've never ever seen
Bug's life ride.  3d. They always without fail spit some kind of water on you
 And the bug's life tree
We stole away for an afternoon to hit up Cocoa Beach.  Love

These are definitely only a few of the highlights.  I have hundreds of pictures if you wanna come over I'll be happy to show you.  Super fun get away with Jessica Olmos and so good to see Brynne Morley.  She's my friend from here in Rexburg but moved there a couple months ago so I wanted to go visite. And she let us in to Disney for free!  So nice and such a great tour guide/ hostess.

Halloween is the same, yet different, every year

First of all, on Friday Katie and I went to a murder mystery party where we were assigned to dress up like certain people.  It was interesting...  and fun...  I was Lizzy Bordeaux and Katie was Dr. Angela Deth.

Then, this morning, we had our 3rd annual guess the Halloween shape pumpkin pancake breakfast.  It never gets old!   (This is broomstick if you must know)
We also look really good while doing it

Harry Potter glasses!  Leading into my next caption....  Harry Potter awesomeness
Prof Snape, Hermione, Voldemort, Luna, Bellatrix Lestrange, death-eater, Harry
Harry and Hermione- .   This is the legit real HP wand. .  He had a lightning scar but I guess he sweat it off.  haha. Turns out, this is Pete.  I don't know him all that well just in case any of you are wondering......   Just a nice boy in my ward.   With He who shall not be named leering in the background,

paint

Thanks to Em, I recently discovered the beauty of paint.  She lent me a cabinet and said I could paint it if I wanted.  Now, I've never painted anything in my life but it inspired me.  I decided to start with this end table.  Spray paint takes a little getting used to, but is good stuff.  (Don't worry, I researched so I sanded and primed also)

Then I moved on to the cabinet.  Isn't it adorable?

I couldn't stop there, so I did my dvd shelf holder whatever.  I think the 3 compliment each other no?  It was fun and I feel so accomplished now.  And they all go with my newly upholstered chair

Kal- nice painting eh?  (I mean the piano girl)

transformation

It used to be this.... I've had it sitting in my house for about a year- bought it at a garage sale last year for $2
And here's what it magically turned into. I'm still going to stain the arms or something. But this was some serious hard work. According to Braden (cause I did it at A's)- last time you were cutting out the fabric and this time it's all made! (because he was at school the other 6 hours I worked on it)
I'm not sure I would recommend this as a hobby. But I am glad it's done. I may or may not do more in the future. I think it would be easier if I did it at my own house. A took a class so she had the 'expertise'. This chair was supposed to be practice for her but I'm not sure how much practice she actually got. More like she might be inspired to work on her own now.

Camera dumbness

We had a family reunion a couple weekends ago and these are the only pics I got from the whole weekend. My camera was dying but would sporadically work. 3 hot tie-dye siblings.
Aaahhh.... the life of a little freezing body
For a special treat, in the morning Kal would conduct Zumba. Braden was the only one who didn't get plumb worn out by this maniac
and this is actually not at reunion, but nonetheless my cousin. And a great one who took me to a concert and introduced me to her cousin. Oh how I love Cath, by Death Cab. I didn't take my camera in either- so that's why else I was dumb with my camera. This is from Em's. If you couldn't tell by who's taking it

Jenny Lake

For Bri's birthday, we hiked around Jenny Lake. It's the longest hike I think I've ever done. (8 miles). I know. Big time hiking. It was really pretty and only took us 4 hours. (We walked really fast- we just stopped a to enjoy the scenery a lot)
