transformation

It used to be this.... I've had it sitting in my house for about a year- bought it at a garage sale last year for $2
And here's what it magically turned into. I'm still going to stain the arms or something. But this was some serious hard work. According to Braden (cause I did it at A's)- last time you were cutting out the fabric and this time it's all made! (because he was at school the other 6 hours I worked on it)
I'm not sure I would recommend this as a hobby. But I am glad it's done. I may or may not do more in the future. I think it would be easier if I did it at my own house. A took a class so she had the 'expertise'. This chair was supposed to be practice for her but I'm not sure how much practice she actually got. More like she might be inspired to work on her own now.

Camera dumbness

We had a family reunion a couple weekends ago and these are the only pics I got from the whole weekend. My camera was dying but would sporadically work. 3 hot tie-dye siblings.
Aaahhh.... the life of a little freezing body
For a special treat, in the morning Kal would conduct Zumba. Braden was the only one who didn't get plumb worn out by this maniac
and this is actually not at reunion, but nonetheless my cousin. And a great one who took me to a concert and introduced me to her cousin. Oh how I love Cath, by Death Cab. I didn't take my camera in either- so that's why else I was dumb with my camera. This is from Em's. If you couldn't tell by who's taking it

Jenny Lake

For Bri's birthday, we hiked around Jenny Lake. It's the longest hike I think I've ever done. (8 miles). I know. Big time hiking. It was really pretty and only took us 4 hours. (We walked really fast- we just stopped a to enjoy the scenery a lot)

HP part 2

For my ma's birthday, we got together and had cake yesterday. I know secretly my Mom has always wanted a HP theme birthday party, so I made it happen. We played some games everyone was good at since we've all read it, and A's kids loved dressing up in the get-up.

except Rhya...

HP nerds

My good friend Brynne is moving to Florida. Since this is the place of Harry Potter Land, I decided to throw her a goodbye party HP themed. I love a good theme party. I had the accessories to dress up. ;) This is her. and she loves HP and since I just barely read and watched the whole thing for the first time, I'm a brand new HP fan/nerd. We played games and had prizes, and everyone I happened to mention it to (like at the garage sales I was finding the stuff at) was so excited for me. And Brynne loved it. So it was a success. I served Butterbeer because Brynne always raves about it- she's had it at the actual Harry Potter Land in Universal. I will miss her.

pillows

I've recently become addicted to wanting/making pillows. I can't get enough. After several failed attempts, I finally made some that turned out! I know, it shouldn't be that hard to make a pillow cover... but sometimes it is. Now I have some cuteness to accessorize my ugly old couch that brings out all the right colors. Thanks to Kal for the old forms and ma for the upholstery invade! And J for the cutting devices, and the bike to get me there. haha. Huge project eh?

and the backs... short on material

First part of July

For the 4th of July, Nick hooked us up with a sweet family pass into the malelueca area, so the family actually got together- plus a few. Let this be documented the first time in my memory that the rents have attended the famous firework show in Idaho Falls- the best west of the mississippi!!! haha

Then, I wanted to take Caleb and Braden to watch the Idaho Falls Chukars baseball team every since last year when Caleb discovered there was a team. I got some tickets from work, and off we went. They loved it, and it's a lot more fun with boys to enjoy it with.

This was a live shot. And their hats are ready to catch the fly balls. Since they forgot their mitts.

If you look closely, you can see more than just the stud with sunglasses. I think this is the coolest pic ever.
happy.
